Two different methods of moving a large sculpture.
The weight was not a problem, it is the physical size. Trees with branches hanging over the lane meant a long detour to get the sculpture to the required location.
Strangely it's final home was only a few miles away from the place of creation. Those few miles were through narrow Devon lanes, which after much debate it was elected to amputate the elephants legs. (The other option being to cut down a few trees, which would have left a trail leading to its final location)
The body was then carried by four stout hearted semi volunteers the few yards to the required resting place.
A word of warning here, never ever cut an elephants legs off. They don't like it and they are sods to get back on!
